Port-Mélite beach is liked by families: easily accessible (even for people with reduced mobility) and watched by lifeguards. It is a good place to spend a summer afternoon with children. The parking lot and the little portable store selling refreshments are bonuses too!
The stretch of sand is wide and nice whatever the tide. There are boats moored a few yards from the shore. Port-Mélite also is one of the beaches where canoes and kayaks are available for rent. Indeed, if the weather allows it, paddling around will prove a great experience, whether you’re going towards the near Grands Sables beach or the other way around towards the Port-Tudy harbor.
As the Grands Sables beach keeps moving west, you can easily walk there from Port-Mélite at low tide, passing by the rocks separating the two beaches.
